Auditions
Auditions for the University of Florida Clarinet Studio are held annually on designated Saturdays during the months of January and February. 

2015 Audition Dates
December 13, 2014

All Freshmen Music Major and Minor Applicants Scholarship Audition

January 10, 2015
All Freshmen Music Major and Minor Applicants Scholarship Audition

January 24, 2015
All Freshmen Music Major and Minor Applicants Scholarship Audition

February 7, 2015
Transfer Students
(Freshmen may audition but will not be eligible for scholarship consideration)

UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA APPLICATION DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 1, 2014
The freshman application deadline is November 1. Please submit the completed online application no later than 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time to be considered on-time. Freshman applications received after November 1 will receive a decision on a space-available basis only.

The audition requirements for the Clarinet Studio are as follows:
1)  All major scales
2)  Chromatic scale
3)  Two contrasting solos/etudes (FBA Level V or higher)
4)  Sightreading

Auditions are arranged through the Office of Music Admissions. A potential student must also apply to the University of Florida through the UF Office of Admissions.

Participation in one of the scheduled audition days is highly recommended, but individual auditions can also be arranged in the event of unusual circumstances. Students who are unable to audition on campus in person must submit a CD or a DVD recording.

Scholarships
All students accepted into the Clarinet Studio are eligible for scholarships. Music Scholarships are primarily awarded to music majors.  Scholarships are awarded on the basis of performance ability and academic excellence. They are awarded on a yearly renewable basis to incoming freshman and transfer students. There are several other types of scholarships available including:

1) Friends of Music Scholarships - Available for incoming freshman students who reside in the state of Florida, and who demonstrate the greatest potential for musical and academic success toward an undergraduate degree in music.
2)  Out-of-State Tuition Waivers - Available to incoming freshmen or transfer students who reside outside of the State of Florida.
3) Amott Clarinet Scholarship - Awarded annually to the most outstanding student in the Clarinet Studio.
4)  Band Scholarships - These awards are based on the student’s musical performance, and are awarded by the University Bands.
